    主要从事水系电化学基础与应用研究,已出版专著 3 部,发表论文 200 余篇,1/3 以上曾入选 ESI 高被引论文,引用 37,000 余次,H 指数 965 年,以通讯作者身份在水系电池领域发表论文 50 余篇,包括 Nat Mater (1)Natl Sci Rev (5)Sci Adv (2)Nat Rev Electr Eng (1)PNAS (1)Joule (4)Nat Commun (2)JACS (11)Angew (12)AM (11)EES (5) 等。主持国家自然科学基金联合重点/面上/青年;科技部国家重点研发计划课题等国家级;上海市关键技术研发/基础研究特区计划/曙光计划/面上;华为/陶氏/双登/交投/倬粤等大型企业转化项目。曾获得 MIT Technology Review 科技创新 35 人、EES LectureshipUSERN Prize LaureateClarivate科睿唯安高被引科学家(2020-2024 年)、中国电化学青年奖教育部“全国高校黄大年式教师团队”核心成员、强国青年科学家提名、上海市科技青年 35 人引领计划复旦大学卓识杰出人才复旦大学五四青年奖章(集体个人澳大利亚研究理事会优秀青年、澳大利亚研究新星等奖项。


Dr. Chao obtained his PhD from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU, Prof. Ze Xiang SHEN and Prof. Hong Jin FAN), and trained at the University of California, Los Angeles, USA (UCLA, Prof. Bruce DUNN) in 2016 as a joint-researcher. He worked as a Research Fellow and senior researcher, respectively, at NTU and The University of Adelaide, Australia (UoA, Prof. Shi-Zhang QIAO). Dr. Chao joined Fudan University in 2020, at the Laboratory of Advanced Materials, College of Smart Material and Future Energy, working on electrochemical fundamentals and porous material applications for next-generation safe, low-cost, and scalable energy storage.

Prof. Chao is now serving as Executive Director of the Aqueous Battery Centre (ABC), Deputy Director of Journal Development Center, Fudan University. He is the Executive Editor of Science and AI, Associate Editor of Materials Today Energy (Q1-IF 9.3, Tier 2 CAS), Editorial Group Member of National Science Review, Academic Editor for Exploration and Interdisciplinary Materials, Board member for EES, Next Energy, Batteries, SmartMat, Carbon Energy, and eScience, etc. He has published 1 authored book and >200 journal articles; 1/3 of them are ESI H.C. papers, with an H-index of 88 and citations over 31,000. After composing the team of energetic Aqueous Batteries (eAB) at Fudan University, he has published >50 high-quality works in the past 5 years in chemistry and materials science, such as Natl Sci Rev (3), Sci Adv (2), Nat Rev Electr Eng (1), PNAS (1), Joule (4), JACS (10), Angew (12), AM (11), EES (4), etc. His awards include Changjiang Scholar, MIT Technology Review U35, EES Lectureship Award, USERN Prize Laureate, DECRA Fellow Award (Australian Research Council), Rising Stars Australia (The Australia), Shanghai S&T 35, Shanghai Dawn Scholar, Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher (2020–2024),   China Electrochemistry Youth Award, and the High-Level Talent Programs of China and Shanghai, etc.
